Life Development Curriculum
Helping residents in early recovery discover that life happens at “the speed of life” is essential to moving forward into adulthood. The life development curriculum is a workshop that is led by Chapter House staff and community partners. This centers on life challenges and solutions to overcome them, all while practicing recovery principles. Workshop topics include: financial peace and freedom, budgeting, resume building, education challenges, working sober, relationships, meetings and sponsorship, grocery shopping, fundamental life skills (cooking, cleaning, shopping), career assessment, organization, and time management.
The workshop utilizes various fun and engaging methods to capture the principles of each topic. This may include field trips, cinema, volunteers, Dave Ramsey’s financial curriculum, Socratic debate and discussion, and hands-on training.
