Comprehensive Recovery for Young Adult Men

What Makes Chapter House Different

Chapter House bridges a critical gap for young men who are no longer in need of inpatient or residential treatment but need more support than a low-structure traditional sober living environment can provide. Our unique approach combines structured transitional living with comprehensive clinical services, creating an environment where young men can heal, recover, and prepare for independent adult life.

Comprehensive Clinical Support

Chapter House operates its own Clinical Center that provides outpatient treatment, counseling, group therapy, family therapy, and trauma therapy. Our Clinical Center features a Board-Certified Addiction Psychiatrist as medical director who sees clients weekly onsite. This integrated clinical team works collaboratively with our sober living staff to provide deeper understanding of each resident's behavior, triggers, needs, and individualized recovery plan.

Specialized Addiction Treatment

Chapter House provides specialized treatment for various substance use disorders, including comprehensive support for individuals recovering from heroin addiction. Our approach addresses the unique challenges and medical complexities associated with opioid recovery, providing the intensive support and medical oversight necessary for successful long-term recovery.

Chapter House Counseling Center IOP/PHP Programs

Our licensed Substance Abuse Program provides both Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospital Program (PHP) services. We specialize in working with individuals who have been exposed to other forms of treatment and have often had significant exposure to the 12 steps. We go beyond traditional chemical dependency education to provide advanced-level clinical services, diving deep into clients' lives to challenge resistance, self-will, relapse history, and ineffective belief systems. This specialized approach works particularly well with individuals who struggle with chronic relapse or who are "stuck in sobriety"—sober but not thriving, unable to maintain employment, or experiencing relationship difficulties. Unlike programs that only provide basic supervision, Chapter House employs a dedicated full-time staff who are deeply invested in each resident's success. This substantial staffing allows us to provide significant mentorship, case management, oversight, and individualized care that traditional sober living environments cannot match.

Dual Diagnosis and Specialized Care

Chapter House welcomes individuals with unique dual diagnosis issues and makes reasonable accommodations based on individual needs. We provide specialized support for residents struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and co-occurring disorders including sex addiction, eating disorders, and gambling addictions. Our staff receives regular training to understand each resident within the context of their specific diagnosis and how this affects their behavior, comprehension, emotions, and ability to implement recovery principles. Medication management is taken seriously through our self-administration protocols, ensuring every resident is held accountable to taking prescribed medications.

Three-Stage Program Structure

Our mission with each young man is three-fold: to land safely, launch into adulthood, and live a purposeful life. This extended care approach recognizes that lasting recovery requires time and comprehensive support.

Stage One: Landing Safely (Stabilization)

The first stage prioritizes creating a safe landing place coming out of primary treatment, when most relapses occur. Residents receive:

The focus is on protecting sobriety, building trusting relationships, developing healthy routines, and addressing dual diagnosis issues while ensuring compliance with treatment protocols.

Stage Two: Launching into Life (Application)

As residents stabilize, they begin practical application of recovery skills while transitioning back into productive life:

This stage focuses on internalizing integrity with money, time, commitments, and relationships while maintaining recovery disciplines.

Stage Three: Living Purposefully (Independence Preparation)

The final stage prepares residents for independent living with moderate oversight:
