The Golden Thread is a documentary film about the journey through addiction and recovery. Targeting the heroin epidemic in Portland, Maine, this is a story of a man (Michael Smith) who overcomes the addiction of drugs and alcohol while growing up in Portland. Now carrying a message of recovery and treatment in Dallas, Texas, he revisits his hometown to encounter some emotional circumstances and a state in the midst of a deadly drug epidemic.
